Erskine Park, NSW: Sydney bakery owner Thuy Le electrocuted at work

A Western Sydney bakery co-owner has been electrocuted at her place of work.

Thuy Le, 49, was found unconscious at the Erskine Park Bakery, in the Erskine Park Shopping Centre, about 9am on Saturday.

She was treated at the scene by paramedics before being taken to Nepean Hospital, where she was pronounced dead.

The exact circumstances surrounding the electrocution aren’t yet known, with SafeWork NSW to investigate.

“SafeWork NSW is making inquiries and further comment is not available at this time,” a spokesperson said in a statement.

Ms Le worked at the bakery that she owned with her husband Phong Le.

Their daughter Leanne Le told 7 News that her mother was “the sweetest and kindest person”.

The incident has forced the bakery’s closure for the foreseeable future.

“Due to unforeseen circumstances, we will be closed until further notice,” reads a post on the Erskine Park Bakery’s Facebook page from Monday evening.

“We sincerely apologise to all those who have made orders and haven’t been able to contact us.”

A subsequent update on Tuesday night confirmed Ms Le’s death.

“Thank you to everyone who has sent us a message and also thank you to everyone who sent us flowers,” reads the post, accompanied with a picture of Ms Le and flowers sent in condolence.

“It is much appreciated. We would like to confirm, that unfortunately, Mrs Thuy Le (Lee’s wife/ Owner) passed away on Saturday. We thank you for your kind words and continued support during this difficult time.”

“So sad to hear of her passing, I’m heartbroken,” said one commenter on the social media post.

“Thinking of your whole family at this very sad time,” said another.

Erskine Park is about 42km west of Sydney’s CBD.
