Megan Thee Stallion was taken to hospital on Tuesday night after becoming unwell during her performance in Moulin Rouge! The Musical, forcing an unexpected pause in the show and raising concern among audience members.
The 31-year-old artist, born Megan Pete, had only recently made her Broadway debut on March 24, stepping into the role of Harold Zidler, the flamboyant owner of the famed cabaret. She had shared her excitement about the milestone with fans shortly before taking the stage.
During Tuesday’s performance at the Al Hirschfeld Theatre in New York, she appeared in the early scenes before reportedly feeling unwell and exiting the stage. The production was temporarily halted, with theatre staff asking attendees to remain seated while the situation was handled.
According to audience accounts shared online, the show paused for a period as updates were awaited. It later resumed with an understudy stepping in to complete the performance.
A spokesperson for the production confirmed that the performer was quickly transported to a nearby hospital, where she is undergoing medical evaluation. No further details about her condition have been released so far.
