Authorities in Sydney are investigating a suspected arson incident after three Tesla vehicles were destroyed in a fire at a dealership in the city’s western suburbs.
Emergency services responded to the blaze, which caused significant damage to the showroom. While initial reports suggested the fire may have been triggered by a battery malfunction, investigators later ruled out that possibility after discovering jerrycan lids at the scene, pointing to a deliberate act.
Fire crews acted swiftly to control the flames, preventing the blaze from spreading further. According to Fire and Rescue NSW, the fire had begun to extend into the ceiling area but was contained to its point of origin. Officials also noted that the damage pattern indicated the fire had started at the front sections of several vehicles.
Despite the extent of the destruction, no injuries were reported. However, three cars were completely burned, and the dealership sustained considerable structural damage.
Police have launched a full investigation and are currently reviewing CCTV footage from surrounding areas in an effort to identify those responsible and establish a motive for the attack.
