One of the most notable additions is Group Message History, a long-requested feature that allows group administrators to share up to 100 recent messages with newly added members. This update helps new participants quickly understand ongoing discussions, decisions, or shared information without needing repeated explanations from existing members. Admins maintain full control over what is shared, ensuring privacy and relevance within group conversations.
WhatsApp has also expanded its AI-powered capabilities, bringing more customization and creativity to chats. Users can now design custom chat themes, apply animated photos, and take advantage of enhanced AI image creation tools that make conversations more expressive and visually engaging. These features reflect WhatsApp’s growing focus on personalization while keeping interactions simple and intuitive.
In addition, the platform has improved how users consume audio content. Playback speeds of up to 2x are now available, making it easier to listen to long voice messages quickly. Complementing this, voice message transcripts allow users to read messages instead of listening — a useful feature in noisy environments or during meetings.
Security has also received a major boost with the introduction of Strict Account Settings. This new option offers stronger protections against unauthorized access, giving users greater control over account activity and reinforcing WhatsApp’s commitment to privacy and data safety.
