Athletes of the Sri Lanka Air Force (SLAF) who delivered medal-winning performances at the 6th Asian Beach Games held in China were formally recognised on Wednesday (06) with promotions and cash incentives.
The awards ceremony took place at Air Force Headquarters under the patronage of Air Force Commander Bandu Edirisinghe, where the athletes were commended for bringing international honour to Sri Lanka.
Competitors who excelled in wrestling, kabaddi and long jump events were promoted from Airman and Leading Airman ranks to Corporal. In addition to career advancement, they also received special cash rewards for their achievements.
Coaches who trained and guided the medal-winning team were also appreciated and awarded cash incentives in recognition of their contribution to the success.

- Women’s Kabaddi: Corporal Hansika Bandara – Silver Medal
- Women’s Kabaddi: Corporal Shanika Bandara – Silver Medal
- Men’s Kabaddi: Corporal Chaminda Samarakoon – Bronze Medal
- Women’s Long Jump: Corporal Shashikala Lankathilaka – Bronze Medal
The SLAF stated that the achievements highlight the growing standard of military sports in Sri Lanka and the dedication of its athletes on the international stage.
