Just weeks after making a high-profile entry into the UAE market, Primark is preparing to open its second outlet in Dubai on April 9. The new store will be located at City Centre Mirdif, further expanding the brand’s footprint in the emirate.
Situated on the ground floor near Entrance C (P1), the store is scheduled to welcome shoppers from 10 am, according to a promotional update shared with customers.
This launch follows closely on the heels of Primark’s first UAE flagship store, which opened at Dubai Mall on March 26. The quick turnaround highlights one of the fastest retail expansion moves seen in the region in recent times.
Ahead of the opening, shoppers are being encouraged to explore collections online, create wishlists, and plan their purchases in advance. However, the Mirdif outlet is just part of a larger growth plan. John Hadden, CEO of Alshaya Group the company overseeing Primark’s regional operations previously indicated that the Dubai Mall launch was only the beginning, with several more locations expected to open across Dubai in rapid succession.
He revealed that additional stores, including the City Centre Mirdif branch and another major mall location, were already in development, reflecting a broader strategy to establish the brand across key retail hubs.
Despite the current global uncertainties, the expansion has been carefully planned over time. Hadden noted that preparations had been underway for around 18 months, with key decisions on store sites, partnerships, and product ranges finalised well ahead of launch.
The supply chain was also secured early, ensuring inventory reached the UAE more than a month before the first store opened. The Dubai Mall flagship positioned as a global-standard outlet offers the full range of Primark products, including fashion for men, women and children, as well as beauty items, footwear, and homeware.
Hadden added that, given the brand’s strong sourcing network in Asia, Dubai could receive new collections at the same time as or even ahead of European markets.
