India’s Legendary Singer Asha Bhosle Passes Away at 92

Legendary Indian playback singer Asha Bhosle has reportedly passed away at the age of 92, according to several media reports from India.

Reports indicate that the iconic singer had recently been receiving treatment at Breach Candy Hospital in Mumbai after her health worsened.

According to Indian media outlets, she was admitted on Saturday following a decline in her condition, with prior reports suggesting she had been experiencing severe fatigue along with a chest infection.

Details about her health were first made public by her granddaughter, Zinai Bhosle, through a post on X. In the message, she explained that the singer had been hospitalised due to extreme exhaustion and a chest infection, while also requesting privacy for the family during that time.

The family had earlier stated that her condition was being closely monitored and that further updates would be shared if necessary.

Asha Bhosle is remembered as one of the most influential and celebrated voices in Bollywood history. Over a career spanning decades, she recorded numerous hit songs that resonated across generations.

Her remarkable versatility allowed her to excel across a wide range of musical styles, cementing her place as a defining figure in South Asian music.
