Prime Minister Harini Amarasuriya of Sri Lanka departed for Manila, Philippines, at midnight on March 8 to undertake an official visit at the invitation of the Asian Development Bank (ADB). The trip coincides with celebrations marking International Women’s Day.
Upon her arrival at Ninoy Aquino International Airport, the Prime Minister was received by Dr. Chanaka Thalpahewa, Sri Lanka’s Ambassador to the Philippines, alongside officials from the Philippine government and representatives of the ADB, according to the Prime Minister’s Media Division.
During her visit, PM Harini is scheduled to deliver a keynote speech at the International Women’s Day event hosted at the ADB Headquarters in Manila.
Additionally, she will hold bilateral meetings with several Philippine government ministers to explore opportunities for enhancing cooperation and strengthening relations between the two countries in areas of shared interest, the statement added.
