India has confirmed that it currently holds sufficient coal reserves across its mines and thermal power stations to comfortably meet ongoing electricity demand, according to a government official speaking on Wednesday.
The official stated that the country’s coal stock levels are strong enough to support power generation for approximately 24 days without disruption, indicating a stable short-term supply situation.
He further added that total coal inventory in the country stands at around 220 million tonnes, covering both mining sites and power plant storage facilities.
Authorities emphasized that the current stock position reflects adequate preparedness to manage demand fluctuations and ensure uninterrupted power supply across the country in the coming weeks.
