The Ministry of Education (MOE) has issued fresh instructions urging schools to adopt stricter financial discipline when organising festivals, ceremonies, and other celebratory events, amid growing concerns over excessive spending that places a burden on parents.
Officials noted that despite earlier guidelines, some schools continue to allocate high budgets for such activities.
The Ministry stressed that all school programmes should be conducted in a cost-efficient manner without affecting their quality, in line with Circular 54/2023 and existing financial regulations.
It further emphasised that the objective is to preserve the educational and cultural importance of these events while ensuring transparency and preventing unnecessary financial pressure on families.
