Donald Trump hosts triumphant USA Hockey Team at the White House

Donald Trump on Tuesday welcomed the United States men’s ice hockey team to the White House in a celebratory reception marking their gold-medal triumph at the Winter Olympics.

The players were received inside the Oval Office, where the president personally congratulated them on their historic achievement. Footage released by the White House showed Trump engaging the athletes in relaxed conversation, offering praise for their performance and sharing light-hearted remarks as he posed for photos with the newly crowned Olympic champions.

Following the meeting, the team was given a guided tour of the White House. Videos shared online captured the players walking through the corridors lined with plaques honoring past U.S. presidents — an installation Trump added during his second term in office — as they took in the history of the executive mansion.

The journey to Washington, D.C., was itself a mark of honor for the team. According to the U.S. Air Force, the players traveled aboard an Air Force C-32 at the president’s request, underscoring the significance of their Olympic victory.

Several members of the squad were also scheduled to attend Trump’s State of the Union Address later that evening, extending the day’s celebrations beyond the White House reception. The visit capped a memorable homecoming for the team, whose gold-medal performance in Italy has been hailed as a major milestone for U.S. ice hockey on the international stage.
