Beyoncé is officially set to return to the Met Gala in 2026, marking her first appearance at the prestigious fashion event in 10 years.
According to reports from Vogue and other confirmed sources, the global superstar will not only attend but also take on a major leadership role as co-chair of the 2026 Met Gala, scheduled for May 4. Her return signals a highly anticipated comeback to one of fashion’s most influential red carpet stages.
Beyoncé first appeared at the Met Gala in 2008 at age 26 and quickly became known for her bold and memorable fashion choices. Her most recent appearance was in 2016 at the “Manus x Machina: Fashion in an Age of Technology” theme, where she wore a striking peach-toned latex Givenchy gown featuring sculpted shoulders.
Over the years, Beyoncé developed a strong Met Gala fashion legacy, frequently collaborating with Givenchy for several consecutive appearances between 2012 and 2016. Her red carpet looks during that period were widely praised for their creativity and high-fashion impact.

The official dress code, “Fashion Is Art,” gives attendees creative freedom to interpret the theme in imaginative ways. Guests are expected to draw inspiration from art history, sculpture, surrealism, and abstract design, blurring the line between fashion and fine art on one of the world’s most-watched red carpets.
