Sri Lanka Hosted First-Ever India Week in Partnership with Home Lands – A Landmark Celebration of Culture, Business, and Entertainment

Sri Lanka witnessed a historic first this March with the launch of Home Lands India Week 2026, a landmark seven-day celebration that showcased the richness, diversity, and global influence of India through culture, business, cuisine, cinema, fashion, and entertainment.

Hosted by Indian Alliance, Home Lands India Week 2026 was held from 11–18 March 2026 across Colombo, Kandy, and Jaffna, bringing together an unprecedented mix of cultural experiences, high-level business engagement, and immersive public events.

The event was presented in collaboration with the High Commission of India in Sri Lanka, reflecting the strong cultural and economic ties shared between Sri Lanka and India.

Positioned as Sri Lanka’s first-ever India Week in partnership with Home Lands, the festival stood as the largest Indian cultural and lifestyle experience ever created in the country, presenting a dynamic platform that celebrated the deep cultural, historical, and economic ties shared between Sri Lanka and India.

A Glamorous and Successfully Concluded Week

Home Lands India Week 2026 concluded as a glamorous and highly successful week-long celebration, bringing together distinguished guests, industry leaders, creatives, and the public across a series of thoughtfully curated events.

The premiere opening night welcomed an esteemed gathering of VIPs, diplomats, sponsors, and partners, and was graced by His Excellency Mr. Santosh Jha, Indian High Commissioner to Sri Lanka, and special guest Ms. Rhea Singha, Miss Universe India 2024.

VVIP guests included His Excellency Purna Bahadur Nepali, Ambassador of Nepal to Sri Lanka, His Excellency Mr. Paitoon Mahapannaporn, Ambassador of Thailand to Sri Lanka, Her Excellency Ms. Senani Dienesha, Honorary Consul of the Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia in Sri Lanka, followed by Mr. Khairul Iskandar bin Md Yusof, Counsellor at the High Commission of Malaysia, Colombo, and Mr. Rustem Jamankulov, Deputy Head of Mission, Embassy of the Republic of Kazakhstan in Sri Lanka along with other diplomats, sponsors, and a host of luminaries from culture, business, media, and the creative industries, setting the tone for a week filled with elegance, meaningful engagement, and vibrant cultural exchange.

Home Lands India Week 2026 introduced a never-before-seen integrated format in Sri Lanka — combining business, culture, and entertainment within one cohesive national celebration.

Over seven days, audiences experienced a diverse line-up of curated events designed to engage the public, business community, creatives, and policymakers alike.

Home Lands India Week 2026 Partners and Sponsors

Homelands, Sri Lanka’s number 1, most trusted and most innovative developer, joined India Week 2026 as the Title Sponsor, while First Capital Holdings PLC came on board as the Investing Partner.

The festival’s Platinum Partners included ODEL, ZAM Gems, and Bally’s Colombo.

Media Partners supporting the event included Dialog Television, Daily Mirror, HI!! Magazine, The Sunday Times, Daily FT, and Sirasa TV.
