Pakistan Nominates Trump for Nobel Peace Prize — Then Condemns His Iran Airstrikes

In a stunning diplomatic twist, Pakistan nominated former U.S. President Donald Trump for the Nobel Peace Prize — only to condemn him just one day later for launching military strikes on Iran.

On June 21, hours before the U.S. ordered airstrikes targeting three Iranian nuclear facilities, Pakistan praised Trump for his “decisive diplomatic intervention” in resolving the India–Pakistan conflict, calling him a “genuine peacemaker” who had shown “strategic foresight and stellar statesmanship.”

However, following the airstrikes, Pakistan’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs strongly denounced the attack, stating:

“The unprecedented escalation of tension and violence, owing to ongoing aggression against Iran, is deeply disturbing. Any further escalation will have severely damaging implications for the region and beyond.”

Earlier, Trump took to social media highlighting past peace efforts, such as the Abraham Accords and tensions eased between India and Pakistan, noting, “I won’t get a Nobel Peace Prize no matter what I do.”
