The Beijing 2022 Olympian consolidated her lead from the short program to win her third national figure skating title while Piper Gilles and Paul Poirier clinched their fourth ice dance crown.
Madeline Schizas won her third national figure skating title at the Canadian Championships in Laval, Quebec on Sunday (19 January).
After topping the short program, the Beijing 2022 Olympian debuted her “Butterfly Lovers Concerto” program in the free skate to score 133.87 points for a total of 203.87.
The 21-year-old won back-to-back national titles in 2022 and 2023, conceding her crown to Kaiya Ruiter at last year’s edition.
Sara-Maude Dupuis, third after the short program**,** came in second with 182.61 ahead of Katherine Medland Spence (181.55). Defending champion Kaiya Ruiter had to settle for fourth place (179.41).
Later on Sunday, Piper Gilles/Paul Poirier secured their fourth ice dance title. They managd a score of 137.71 in their free dance to “A Whiter Shade Of Pale” by Annie Lennox.for a total of 229.55 points.
Marjorie Lajoie/Zachary Lagha (218.52) and Alicia Fabbri/Paul Ayer (195.88) completed the podium.
