Pakistan Navy Rescues Indian and Indonesian Crew in Arabian Sea Emergency

In a notable display of humanitarian cooperation at sea, the Pakistan Navy swiftly responded to an emergency involving a foreign vessel in the Arabian Sea, ensuring the safety of all crew members on board.

The incident involved the merchant vessel MV Gautam, which encountered a technical malfunction while en route from Oman to India. The ship was carrying six Indian nationals and one Indonesian crew member at the time of the breakdown.

Following a distress request issued by India’s Maritime Rescue Coordination Centre, the Pakistan Maritime Security Agency deployed its vessel, PNS Kashmir, to the location. The rescue team acted promptly, successfully reaching the stranded ship and evacuating all seven crew members without incident.

Officials confirmed that the coordinated effort highlights the importance of regional maritime cooperation, especially during emergencies where lives are at risk. The operation ensured that the affected crew were brought to safety in a timely manner.

This incident underscores how humanitarian priorities can transcend national boundaries, with swift action and collaboration playing a crucial role in saving lives at sea.
