Donald Trump stated that any decision regarding the end of the conflict with Iran will be made in coordination with Benjamin Netanyahu, The Times of Israel reported.
In a brief phone interview, the former US president claimed that the Islamic Republic would have posed a severe threat to Israel if not for the joint efforts of the US and Israel.
He said that Iran “was going to destroy Israel and everything else around it” and emphasized the cooperation between the two nations to neutralize that threat.
When asked whether the decision to end hostilities would be his alone or shared with Netanyahu, Trump replied: “I think it’s mutual… a little bit. We’ve been talking. I’ll make a decision at the right time, but everything’s going to be taken into account.”
Regarding the possibility of Israel continuing the conflict after US strikes end, he chose not to speculate, adding, “I don’t think it’s going to be necessary.”
