Effective from March 23, fares for three-wheelers across Sri Lanka have been increased in line with the recent rise in fuel prices announced by the Government.
According to the Road Passenger Transport Authority (Western Province), the base fare for the first kilometre has gone up from Rs. 100 to Rs. 110. For every additional kilometre, passengers will now be charged Rs. 90.
Authorities explained that the revision aims to help drivers cope with the increased operational costs resulting from higher petrol and diesel prices, ensuring continued availability of transport services for commuters across the region.
