Sri Lanka-born karate prodigy Manmitha Jinasena has delivered an outstanding performance on the international stage, clinching three medals across two major tournaments in the United States – a remarkable achievement that highlights her rising global stature in the sport.
Competing at the prestigious USA Junior International Cup and the USA Open Championship 2026 held at the Fort Worth Convention Center, Jinasena showcased exceptional skill, composure, and determination against a highly competitive international field.
Representing Senshi Karate Do in Maryland, she secured a silver medal in kata and a bronze medal in kumite at the USA Junior International Cup. Continuing her impressive run, she added another bronze medal in kata at the USA Open Championship, completing a commendable three-medal haul.
Jinasena’s performances were defined by technical excellence and discipline. Her kata routines displayed outstanding balance, precision, and timing, while her kumite bouts revealed her speed, accuracy, and ability to perform under pressure. These qualities have steadily established her as a consistent and formidable competitor on the global karate circuit.
Her recent success builds on an already impressive track record. Jinasena previously dominated at the USA National Championships, winning kata titles in both 2024 and 2025, alongside notable victories at the Sri Lanka National Karate Championship.
