Sharjah is preparing to open a women-only beach park in Dibba Al Hisn this week, marking the first in a planned series of dedicated coastal facilities aimed at providing privacy, comfort, and modern amenities for women across the emirate’s eastern region.
The project, implemented by the Sharjah Public Works Department, spans an area of 6,350 square metres and forms part of a wider initiative directed by His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah. The broader plan includes the development of three fully serviced women-only beaches, with similar projects also underway in Kalba and Khorfakkan.
According to officials, the Dibba Al Hisn site has been designed as a model development focused on privacy and high-quality public facilities. The beach is fully enclosed with a three-metre-high perimeter fence and includes protective coastal structures such as a 200-metre rock breakwater, ensuring both safety and seclusion for visitors.
The beachfront complex features a wide range of facilities spread across a two-wing structure, including a fitness centre, creative activity hall, café, administrative offices, medical clinic, prayer room, and security rooms. These services are intended to support a well-rounded recreational environment that combines wellness, leisure, and community engagement.
In addition, the development includes a shaded children’s play area with safety flooring, along with a dedicated rubberised walking track along the shoreline to encourage fitness activities. Marine safety has also been prioritised, with lifeguard towers, designated swimming zones, and service facilities incorporated into the design.
Authorities say the project reflects Sharjah’s ongoing commitment to providing inclusive recreational spaces that respect cultural values while enhancing quality of life. Once operational, the Dibba Al Hisn women-only beach park is expected to serve as a key destination for relaxation, wellness, and family-friendly activities in a private coastal setting.
