In the highly competitive gaming industry—where speed and precision can determine success—Samsung Electronics continues to lead from the front. The tech giant has once again secured its position as the world’s top gaming monitor brand, marking seven consecutive years at No. 1.
Recent figures from International Data Corporation reveal that Samsung captured 18.9% of global gaming monitor revenue in 2025. The achievement reinforces its leadership streak that began in 2019 and underlines its ability to stay ahead in a rapidly evolving market.
Samsung also maintained its dominance in the OLED gaming monitor category, topping the segment for the third year in a row with a 26% share. The milestone highlights rising demand for richer visuals and the company’s focus on delivering highly immersive display experiences.
Speaking on the achievement, Hun Lee, Executive Vice President of Samsung’s Visual Display division, said the company remains committed to pushing boundaries through innovation. He noted that close collaboration with game developers and a strong technology roadmap are key to delivering high-performance displays tailored to gamers’ needs.
Samsung’s influence in gaming is further strengthened through collaborations with esports figures like Lee ‘Faker’ Sang-hyeok of T1. Widely regarded as one of the greatest professional gamers, Faker emphasized that even the smallest performance edge matters in competitive play, adding that Samsung’s continued leadership reflects the trust gamers place in its technology.
At the Game Developers Conference 2026, Samsung showcased its latest Odyssey lineup, highlighting the brand’s forward-thinking approach to gaming displays.
Among the standout products is the Odyssey 3D (G90XF), a 27-inch monitor offering glasses-free 3D powered by advanced eye-tracking. Designed to create a more lifelike gaming experience, it brings a new level of depth and realism to gameplay. The accompanying Odyssey 3D Hub is expected to support more than 120 compatible titles this year, including upcoming games like Hell is Us and Cronos: The New Dawn.
For those seeking ultra-high visual quality, the Odyssey OLED G8 (G80SH) features 4K QD-OLED resolution with a 240Hz refresh rate, delivering smooth performance alongside vibrant colors and deep contrast. Samsung’s OLED Safeguard+ technology further enhances durability.
The company also introduced the Odyssey G8 (G80HS), the industry’s first 6K gaming monitor. With a native 165Hz refresh rate and a Dual Mode that can reach up to 330Hz in 3K resolution, it offers flexibility for both cinematic and competitive gaming experiences. Support for DisplayPort 2.1 ensures high-speed connectivity and seamless performance.
Meanwhile, the Odyssey G6 (G60H) pushes the limits of speed, boasting a 1,040Hz refresh rate—making it one of the fastest gaming monitors available, ideal for esports professionals and serious gamers.
Samsung’s continued success reflects more than just market share. Its focus on innovation is redefining how games are experienced, blending realism, responsiveness, and immersion into every new generation of displays.
As the gaming industry evolves, Samsung’s presence in markets like Sri Lanka ensures that local gamers can access cutting-edge technology designed to elevate performance and enhance gameplay experiences.
