Explosion Triggers Major Fire at Texas Oil Refinery in Port Arthur
A powerful explosion at an industrial heating unit sparked a large fire at a major oil refinery in Port Arthur, Texas, late Monday night, according to officials and local media reports.
The incident occurred at a facility operated by Valero Energy, which processes approximately 380,000 barrels of crude oil per day, making it one of the most significant refining sites in the United States.
Following the blast, flames rapidly spread across parts of the refinery, sending thick black smoke high into the sky, visible from surrounding areas. Emergency response teams were quickly deployed to contain the fire and assess the situation.
Authorities have yet to confirm the full extent of the damage or whether there were any injuries, while investigations are expected to focus on the cause of the explosion at the industrial heater.
