Manchester City Manager Pep Guardiola to Exit After Remarkable Decade

Pep Guardiola is reportedly set to leave Manchester City after a decade at the helm, marking the end of one of the most dominant managerial eras in Premier League history. According to media reports, former Chelsea manager Enzo Maresca is expected to take over the role.

The 55-year-old Spanish coach is believed to be preparing to officially announce his departure following Manchester City’s final match of the season against Aston Villa at the Etihad Stadium. His exit would conclude a highly successful campaign in which City secured both the League Cup and FA Cup titles.

Guardiola’s latest FA Cup triumph over Chelsea added to his remarkable legacy, taking his total trophy count with the club to 20 major honours.

Reports suggest Maresca, who left Chelsea earlier this year, has long been considered the leading candidate to succeed Guardiola. The managerial transition comes as Guardiola’s current contract is due to run until June 2027, although speculation over his future has intensified.

Following the FA Cup victory, Guardiola avoided directly addressing questions about his future. When asked about the rumours in a post-match interview with TNT Sports, he responded briefly, “What rumours?” before ending the conversation by wishing the interviewer a good evening.

If confirmed, his departure would close a historic chapter for Manchester City and signal a major shift ahead for the club’s future direction.
