The nationwide ‘‘Ehi Passiko’’ Peace Walk is set to begin its sixth day today (April 27), with participants gathering near Abeysekaraaramaya before continuing their journey.
Organisers confirmed that today’s route will conclude at the historic Kelaniya Raja Maha Viharaya, a key spiritual landmark along the walk.
A special engagement programme is scheduled for tomorrow (April 28) at Kelaniya Raja Maha Viharaya, bringing together school and university students. The discussion aims to promote peace, unity, and cultural understanding, in line with the objectives of the ongoing initiative.
Following the event, participants will resume their journey from Kelaniya towards Independence Square, where the final segment of the walk will take place.
The same day will also feature the State Ceremony of the ‘‘Ehi Passiko’’ Peace Walk at Independence Square, held under the patronage of Anura Kumara Dissanayake.
The Peace Walk, led by Venerable Pannakara Thero alongside a group of monks, began on April 21 from Dambulla Raja Maha Viharaya. The multi-day journey has drawn attention for its message of harmony and spiritual reflection across communities.
