Kanye West has postponed his much-anticipated debut concert in India, with organisers announcing a new date for the performance later this year.
The show, which was originally planned for March 29, 2026, at Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium in New Delhi, will now take place on May 23, 2026, according to an official update issued by event organisers.
In a message shared with ticket holders, organisers said the postponement was due to the “current geopolitical situation and regional tensions.” They added that ensuring the safety of fans, performers and event staff remains the top priority, especially as large international events continue to face disruptions linked to regional developments.
Although the concert has been delayed by nearly two months, the venue and overall event plans remain unchanged. Tickets purchased for the original March date will automatically be valid for the new May performance, meaning fans will not need to exchange or repurchase their passes.
The Delhi concert is expected to be West’s first major live performance in India, generating strong interest among fans. The artist who legally changed his name to Ye in 2021—is widely considered one of the most influential figures in modern hip-hop, known for albums such as The College Dropout, My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy and Donda. His shows are also known for elaborate stage production and large-scale visual design.
While many fans were relieved the event is still set to take place, the revised date sparked humorous reactions online. On the social media platform X, some users joked that the concert now falls during “peak Delhi summer,” when temperatures in the city can exceed 40°C. Several fans quipped that attending the event might feel like a “survival challenge.”
However, some reactions were less playful. In comments under announcements shared on Instagram, several fans voiced concerns about travel plans they had already made for the original date. Some said they had booked flights and hotel stays that cannot be refunded and questioned whether organisers would address the additional costs for those travelling from other cities or countries.
So far, organisers have confirmed only that existing tickets will automatically transfer to the new date, with no further details provided regarding travel or accommodation expenses.
