Fresh advisory issued for Indians in the UAE

The Indian Embassy in Abu Dhabi on Thursday released a fresh advisory for Indian nationals living in the UAE amid the ongoing situation in the region.

In its notice, the embassy urged Indians in the UAE to stay alert but calm, and to strictly follow safety instructions issued by local authorities. It also advised residents to keep track of official announcements and updates released from time to time.

The mission further informed that Indian nationals who are stranded can make use of the limited special flight services currently being operated by Indian and UAE airlines. Passengers have been advised to contact their respective airlines for further arrangements. Authorities also reminded travellers that overstay fines have been waived for visitors and others who have been unable to leave the country due to the extraordinary circumstances.

Meanwhile, the Embassy of India in Abu Dhabi and the Indian Consulate in Dubai confirmed that their passport, consular and visa services continue to operate as usual. The mission added that it is closely coordinating with UAE authorities and community leaders to safeguard the wellbeing of the Indian community in the country.
