The FIFA World Cup is set to receive a major entertainment boost as global superstars BTS, Shakira, and Madonna are confirmed to co-headline the 2026 World Cup Final Halftime Show.
FIFA made the announcement on May 14, revealing that the spectacular performance will take place on July 19 at the New York–New Jersey Stadium, bringing together three of the biggest names in global music for what is expected to be a historic show.
A Global Entertainment Spectacle
Describing the event as “the world’s biggest stage with an even bigger purpose,” FIFA also hinted at additional creative direction from Coldplay’s Chris Martin, adding further star power to the production.
In a surprising twist, beloved characters from Sesame Street and The Muppets are also expected to feature in the halftime segment, making the event a unique blend of music, entertainment, and pop culture.

This appearance marks another major football-related moment for BTS. The group previously performed at Global Citizen Live in 2021, while member Jungkook contributed to the 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar with his hit song “Dreamers,” which became widely popular during the tournament.
