Dubai Basketball made a powerful start to their 2025/26 ABA League quarter-final series, cruising to a commanding 102–74 win over Spartak Office Shoes in Sarajevo to take a 1–0 lead in the best-of-three matchup.
The team set the tone early, putting up an impressive 31 points in the opening quarter to secure a solid advantage. They carried that momentum into the second period, widening the gap and heading into halftime with a comfortable 54–41 lead.
After the break, Dubai stepped up another gear, delivering a dominant third-quarter performance to stretch the score to 84–59. Any hopes of a comeback were quickly shut down at the start of the final quarter, as Dubai unleashed an 11–0 run to build an unassailable lead.
With full control of the game, Dubai comfortably closed out the contest, sealing a convincing 28-point victory in Game 1.
Head coach Aleksander Sekulić praised his team’s response after the break, highlighting their defensive intensity and overall execution. He emphasized the importance of staying focused ahead of the next game, noting that the job is far from finished.
Standout performances came from Džanan Musa, who delivered a season-best 31 points, and Mfiondu Kabengele, who impressed with a double-double, recording 16 points, 12 rebounds, and five assists.
Dubai now needs just one more win to book their place in the semi-finals, with Game 2 set to take place in Subotica on May 10.
