Dhurandhar 2 has set a new benchmark for Hindi cinema by recording two back-to-back days with earnings exceeding Rs 100 crore—an achievement never seen before in the industry. The film opened strongly on Thursday with Rs 102.55 crore, including a significant contribution from paid previews, before dipping to Rs 80.72 crore on Friday. However, collections rebounded sharply on Saturday with nearly a 40% rise, driving its opening weekend performance to exceptional levels.
By the end of the weekend, the film amassed an impressive domestic total of Rs 454.12 crore (nett), with gross earnings reaching Rs 541.97 crore. This rapid pace has surpassed even major milestones set by Baahubali 2: The Conclusion, which had comparatively lower weekend figures during its release.
Globally, Dhurandhar 2 ranked as the second highest-grossing film over the weekend ending March 22, coming in just behind Project Hail Mary starring Ryan Gosling. In North America, the film performed strongly, earning over $10 million and securing the third spot at the box office. It trailed only Project Hail Mary and Hoppers, while outperforming other releases like Scream 7 and Ready Or Not 2.
With its worldwide gross now estimated at over Rs 691 crore (around $80 million), the film is quickly approaching the $100 million milestone and is on track to become one of the top 10 highest-grossing films globally in 2026.
Meanwhile, Ustaad Bhagat Singh, directed by Harish Shankar and starring Pawan Kalyan, was expected to pose strong competition in the southern market. However, it has struggled to keep pace, earning about Rs 71.3 crore worldwide so far without crossing Rs 10 crore in a single day.
Continuing the story from its 2025 predecessor, the sequel features Ranveer Singh reprising his role as a top Indian spy. The film also brings back a strong supporting cast, including R. Madhavan, Arjun Rampal, and Sanjay Dutt, with Sara Arjun and Rakesh Bedi playing key roles.
