Dining on Wheels: ‘Bustaurant’ Launches in Dambulla

A new luxury travel experience named the ‘Bustaurant’ was officially launched on 15th January in Dambulla. This innovative concept features a fully equipped bus offering hotel-style amenities for tourists on the move.

The project was developed with collaboration from various government bodies, including the Dambulla Municipal Council and the Pradeshiya Sabha.

The Bustaurant service allows travelers to explore rural routes leading to historic and cultural landmarks such as Dambulla, Pelwehera, Inamaluwa, Kimbissa, Sigiriya, and Pidurangala. Passengers can enjoy delicious food and drinks onboard while taking in a comfortable and leisurely journey.

Along the way, guests also have the chance to admire picturesque reservoirs like Randenigama, Ibbankatuwa, and Kandalama, as well as vast stretches of lush paddy fields.

Today marked the maiden trip of the Bustaurant, welcoming both local and international tourists for a fully catered day trip around Sigiriya and its stunning surroundings.
