Much of Atlantic Canada is preparing for severe winter weather, with snow, freezing rain, and strong winds expected across the region.
Environment Canada has issued a winter storm warning for western Newfoundland, where up to 40 cm of snow and wind gusts reaching 120 km/h are forecast. The storm is expected to peak overnight Sunday and continue into Tuesday morning.
In Nova Scotia, Annapolis and Kings counties are under a freezing rain warning, with precipitation expected to transition to a mix of snow and ice as temperatures fall later in the day. Authorities warn that roads and sidewalks may become slippery and advise residents to exercise caution.
Meanwhile, a snowfall warning in New Brunswick predicts up to 25 cm of snow through Monday morning, potentially disrupting travel and daily activities.
