Boney M Announce Final Australian Tour for April 2026

Legendary disco group Boney M, featuring founding member Maizie Williams, will return to Australia in April 2026 for The Final Curtain Tour, marking the last chance for local fans to experience the iconic act live on stage.

Boney M Featuring Maizie Williams have officially confirmed their return to Australia in April 2026 for The Final Curtain Tour, a nationwide farewell run celebrating one of the most influential disco acts in music history. The tour will showcase the group’s timeless catalogue, including global hits such as Rasputin, Daddy Cool, Sunny, Ma Baker, Rivers of Babylon, Brown Girl in the Ring, Gotta Go Home and Mary’s Boy Child, all performed with a full live band.

The announcement represents the final opportunity for Australian audiences to see Boney M live, bringing an end to a touring legacy that has spanned nearly five decades. With more than 150 million records sold worldwide, the group remains one of the most successful pop and disco acts of all time.

Formed in West Germany in 1974 by producer and songwriter Frank Farian, Boney M quickly became a global phenomenon. The original line-up featured Liz Mitchell, Marcia Barrett, Maizie Williams, and Bobby Farrell, combining infectious rhythms, striking visuals, and high-energy performances that defined the disco era. Their breakthrough came with Daddy Cool, which topped European charts and launched an unstoppable run of international success.

Throughout the late 1970s, Boney M dominated radio and television worldwide. Albums such as Take The Heat Off Me, Nightflight to Venus, and Love for Sale cemented their place in pop history, while singles like Rivers of Babylon / Brown Girl in the Ring became some of the best-selling records in UK chart history. Their popularity even saw them perform in the Soviet Union, a rare achievement for Western pop acts at the time.

Despite lineup changes and shifting musical trends in the 1980s, the group’s music endured. Revival tours, chart re-entries, and modern remixes — including a viral resurgence of Rasputin in 2021 — introduced Boney M to new generations of listeners. The passing of Frank Farian in 2024 further highlighted the lasting cultural impact of the catalogue he created.

Australia has long shared a special relationship with Boney M, with their songs becoming staples of local radio during the group’s peak years. The Final Curtain Tour promises a celebratory farewell, featuring classic hits, dancers, and large-scale production, led by Maizie Williams and presented as a tribute to an era that shaped global pop culture.
