Volkswagen prices rise by up to $2600 in Australia

[ad_1]

Prices across five Volkswagen hatchback and SUV models have increased for model-year 2024 examples to coincide with the return of key safety features.

Volkswagen Australia has increased prices across the Golf, Polo, Tiguan, Tiguan Allspace and T-Roc ranges by up to $2600 alongside the return of key advanced safety technology, and other new features for select models.

As reported by Drive in recent months, blind-spot monitoring and rear cross-traffic alert safety features have now returned to applicable Volkswagen models after they were deleted due to semiconductor shortages last year.

Prices have risen by between $500 and $2600, with Model Year 2024 (MY24) vehicles available to order now ahead of first deliveries due in February 2024.

In the meantime Volkswagen Australia says there is still “substantial” stock of key Model Year 2023 (MY23) vehicles in its showrooms – including the Golf and T-Roc, which have drive-away price offers until the end of this year.

Most of the changes for MY24 have already been announced – click here to read what is new for the Tiguan and Tiguan Allspace, here for the Polo Style, here for the Polo GTI, here for the regular Golf line-up, and here for the regular T-Roc line-up.

In addition, Volkswagen Australia has announced the Harman Kardon premium sound system will now be standard on the Golf R hot hatch, said to account for $1000 of its $1600 price rise.

Meanwhile the Beats sound system will now be standard on the T-Roc R.

The latest price rises for the T-Roc are in addition to specification changes – and $1790 to $1890 price increases – announced earlier this year.

As previously reported, the VW line-up will be slimmed for Model Year 2024, with the axing of the Passat and Arteon ranges, Golf and Golf R wagons, Tiguan and Tiguan Allspace 147TDI diesels, base manual Polo, and a number of now-sold-out special editions.
