Abu Dhabi Gets More Flights as Qatar Airways Returns

Qatar Airways has resumed passenger flights to Abu Dhabi, reinstating its double-daily service between Doha and the UAE capital as part of a broader effort to rebuild its regional network.

With the relaunch of this route, the airline now operates across three destinations in the United Arab Emirates — Abu Dhabi, Dubai, and Sharjah — further strengthening connectivity in one of its key markets.

The move comes as Qatar Airways continues the gradual restoration of services across the Middle East following recent disruptions to regional air travel. In addition to Abu Dhabi, the airline has recently restarted operations to Iraqi cities including Baghdad, Basra, and Erbil. Daily services have also resumed to destinations such as Bahrain, Damascus, and Kozhikode.

The carrier said it is proceeding with a phased recovery of its global network, which spans six continents, while closely monitoring operational and safety conditions. Passengers have been advised to regularly check the airline’s official website or mobile app for the latest updates and ensure their contact details are current.

Qatar Airways also noted that flight schedules remain subject to change or cancellation depending on operational, regulatory, or safety considerations.

The resumption of Abu Dhabi flights comes as airlines across the Gulf region gradually rebuild schedules after disruptions caused by heightened regional tensions earlier this year. The conflict significantly impacted aviation and tourism, forcing multiple carriers to suspend or adjust routes.

As stability slowly returns under a fragile ceasefire, airlines — including those based in the UAE — are steadily reinstating suspended services.

The restored Abu Dhabi route marks another step in reconnecting Doha with major regional hubs, reinforcing Qatar Airways’ position as a leading carrier in Middle Eastern aviation.
