Matches Paused as Bad Weather Disrupts Cricket Action

Sri Lanka Cricket (SLC) has announced the postponement of all its domestic cricket tournaments due to ongoing unfavorable weather conditions affecting several parts of the country.

The decision was made after officials reviewed the current situation and determined that conditions were not suitable for matches to proceed as scheduled.

As a result, key competitions including the Major Club T20 Tournament, the Tier B Club T20 Tournament, and the Governors’ Trophy have been put on hold. These tournaments were originally set to begin today.

SLC stated that the safety of players, officials, and ground staff remains a top priority, and the move aims to avoid disruptions and risks caused by continuous rain and poor ground conditions.

Updated schedules for the postponed tournaments will be released at a later date once weather conditions improve, according to an official statement.

The delay is expected to impact the domestic cricket calendar, with teams and fans now awaiting confirmation of new match dates.
