Lebanon president thanks Trump for role in pushing ceasefire efforts

Lebanon’s President Joseph Aoun has expressed appreciation to US President Donald Trump for his efforts aimed at securing lasting peace and stability in the region.

According to a statement shared on X by the Lebanese presidency, the two leaders held a phone conversation during which Aoun acknowledged Trump’s involvement in ongoing diplomatic efforts.

During the call, President Aoun emphasized the importance of continuing these initiatives to bring an end to hostilities as quickly as possible. He expressed hope that efforts to halt the fighting would succeed without further delay.

The statement also noted that President Trump reaffirmed his support for Lebanon and President Aoun, stressing his commitment to responding to Lebanon’s request for a ceasefire at the earliest opportunity.
