The says that the bodies of 84 personnel believed to have been on board the Iranian warship IRIS Dena have been recovered following a maritime incident in international waters.

The vessel was involved in the incident yesterday in international waters located within Sri Lanka’s Search and Rescue Region.
Authorities stated that under the , Sri Lanka is internationally obligated to assist in maritime emergencies occurring within this designated sea area.
The Sri Lanka Navy launched immediate search and rescue operations after receiving a distress call at approximately 5:08 a.m., working together with the .
According to reports from , around 180 personnel were believed to have been on board the vessel at the time of the incident.
So far, the Sri Lanka Navy has successfully rescued 32 survivors from the warship.
Meanwhile, during a Pentagon briefing, confirmed that a U.S. submarine launched a torpedo attack, sinking the Iranian warship in the Indian Ocean.
The official stated that the United States had targeted what he described as “an Iranian warship that believed it was safe in international waters.”
