Weekly Wednesday Holiday for State Sector Cancelled from April 8

The special weekly Wednesday holiday granted to state sector employees has been officially withdrawn, with the change set to take effect from April 8.

Authorities confirmed that public sector workers will return to a standard work schedule, ending the temporary arrangement that provided an additional midweek break. The move is expected to improve administrative efficiency and ensure continuity in public services.

The Wednesday holiday was initially introduced as part of broader measures aimed at addressing specific economic and operational challenges. However, with conditions evolving, the government has decided to discontinue the practice and restore normal working days across the state sector.

Officials noted that the decision is intended to strengthen productivity and maintain consistent service delivery to the public. Employees have been advised to adjust their routines accordingly as the revised schedule comes into effect.
