The United Arab Emirates has issued a strong condemnation of the terrorist attack on an Indian-flagged ship off the coast of Oman, cautioning that the incident could endanger global shipping lanes and destabilize the region.
In an official statement, the UAE Ministry of Foreign Affairs described the assault as a dangerous escalation that threatens key maritime routes and the safety of international trade. The ministry noted that such actions undermine the stability of critical sea corridors relied upon by the global economy.
The UAE also reaffirmed its support for India, expressing solidarity and backing efforts to ensure the protection of Indian vessels and their operations.
Additionally, the ministry highlighted that targeting commercial ships violates international law, including United Nations Security Council resolutions that uphold freedom of navigation and prohibit interference with global maritime traffic.
Officials further warned that using strategic waterways like the Strait of Hormuz for coercion or economic pressure amounts to piracy and presents a serious risk to both regional peace and global energy supplies.
