The UAE has introduced a new AI-driven “UAE Skills Platform” to help align education with labour market demands and prepare talent for future careers.
Launched by the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research and the Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratisation, the platform supports a national strategy focused on building a skills-based economy and strengthening human capital development.
Officials highlighted that the initiative will bridge the gap between academic outcomes and job market needs by providing a data-driven system that connects education institutions, students, and employers.
The platform uses artificial intelligence to analyse job trends, identify in-demand skills, and forecast future workforce requirements. It also offers guidance for students on choosing academic paths, while helping universities design programmes that match industry needs.
Leaders including Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan emphasised that investing in human development is key to the country’s long-term growth, while Sheikha Mariam bint Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan noted the importance of clear education-to-career pathways.
The system will serve over 200,000 students and 200 institutions, supporting skill tracking, career planning, and lifelong learning opportunities.
By integrating education data with labour market insights, the UAE Skills Platform aims to build a future-ready workforce and support the country’s transition toward a knowledge-based economy.
