On Monday, hundreds of thousands of students began their third academic term from homes throughout the UAE and abroad, as both public and private schools resumed distance learning after the spring break. The schools, following national and international curricula, adapted quickly to ensure lessons could continue online.
The two-week online learning directive at the start of Term 3 was issued by UAE education authorities in response to ongoing regional tensions stemming from Iranian aggression.
During the spring break, schools prepared extensively for the online transition. Many students and staff remained overseas after early departures, as the break had been shifted forward by a week to accommodate the situation. Despite the logistical challenges, the first day of Term 3 was reported to run smoothly, with teachers and students connecting from multiple time zones worldwide.
School administrators highlighted the global nature of the virtual classroom, noting that lessons continued seamlessly even with participants joining from different countries, demonstrating the UAE’s ability to quickly adapt to remote learning under challenging circumstances.
