Sydney Sweeney is in a new red-carpet style era. This week, the actress put an exciting twist on the classic little black dress when she stepped out for the Mexico City premiere of her new horror, Immaculate.
For the event, Sweeney wore a below-the-knee black dress by Miu Miu, black stilettos, and opera gloves– perhaps an homage to themes in the film. While at first glance it’s a pretty straightforward all-black look, when Sweeney turned to the side, she revealed that the dress had two circular cutouts on her hips.
Sweeney, who plays Cecilia in the film, was joined by Álvaro Morte, who plays Father Sal Tedeschi.

This latest look follows a series of other red carpets and premieres the actress had been attending to promote her other film Anyone But You. Recently, she admitted that the press and rumors around her relationship with costar Glenn Powell were, in part, on purpose. “I wanted to make sure that we were actively having a conversation with the audience as we were promoting this film because, at the end of the day, they’re the ones who created the entire narrative,” Sweeney told the New York Times.
Could this look, coupled with Sydney Sweeney’s commitment to the bit, hint at a new darker side of her style? Only time will tell.
