A total of 18 Sri Lankans currently in Israel are scheduled to return home today (March 19), confirmed Nimal Bandara.
Among them, nine individuals were deported for breaching Israel’s immigration regulations. In addition to those traveling today, four more Sri Lankans are also set to depart Israel for Sri Lanka.
The ambassador noted that five other citizens have submitted requests to return and are expected to travel via Cairo Airport, with a stopover in Dubai before arriving back in Sri Lanka.
This repatriation effort underscores the continued support for Sri Lankans abroad, ensuring safe and organized returns for citizens facing legal or logistical challenges overseas.
