Sri Lanka Cricket has announced the appointments of Ryan van Niekerk as the National Bowling Coach and Jordan Gregory as the National Fielding and Spin Bowling Coach at the National High Performance Centre.
Van Niekerk, who previously served as the bowling coach and interim head coach for the Netherlands national cricket team from 2023 to 2026, will take charge of fast bowling across all Sri Lankan national teams, including the senior men’s squad.
Before stepping in as interim head coach, van Niekerk held positions as assistant coach and bowling coach for the Netherlands men’s team. His tenure included involvement in major tournaments such as the ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup 2023 and the ICC Men’s T20 World Cups in 2024 and 2026.
Jordan Gregory, who has worked as a fielding consultant for Netherlands Cricket, joins Sri Lanka Cricket as the National Fielding and Spin Bowling Coach. He will manage fielding and spin bowling development for all national teams at the High Performance Centre, including the men’s national side.
Gregory’s experience includes contributions to multiple bilateral and multinational tournaments, including the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2023, during his time with the Netherlands.
Both appointments are for a two-year term starting 15 April 2026, according to Sri Lanka Cricket.
