Prassanna Pathmanathan Shines as Global Fashion Visionary

In a remarkable moment of international acclaim, Prassanna Pathmanathan—one of Sri Lanka’s most celebrated figures in fashion and pageantry—was named “Creative Visionary in Fashion and Pageantry” at the prestigious Passion Vista Style and Glamour Awards & Global Leadership Forum. The event, hosted on May 4th at Waters Edge Hotel in Sri Lanka, brought together leading lights from global fashion and pageantry.

The annual awards, organized by Passion Vista, a luxury and business lifestyle magazine by Unified Brainz Media & Publication House, honor trailblazers across international fashion hubs. This year’s ceremony highlighted not just global excellence, but also shone a well-deserved spotlight on Sri Lanka’s dynamic creative force—Prassanna Pathmanathan.

As the Founder and President of the Colombo Fashion Council, Prassanna has masterfully blended creativity with business acumen. His unique background—combining IT, business, and marketing—has positioned him as a forward-thinking innovator in the ever-evolving fashion industry.

His impressive academic credentials include a Gold Medal from the University of Westminster (UK), a Chartered Marketer designation, and an MBA from the University of Wales. Beyond academia, Prassanna is a global trainer, consultant, lecturer, and researcher, seamlessly bridging the worlds of business and fashion.

His international journey gained momentum when he became the first Asian judge at the Mr. Earth Worldwide Pageant in 2011. Since then, he has served as a judge on numerous pageant panels, trained models worldwide, and curated fashion shows known for their creativity and impact.

Among his many accolades is the British Council’s Young Creative Entrepreneur Fashion and Design Award (2022), where he triumphed over 230 local contestants. This victory earned him a fashion study tour in London, opening doors for international collaborations and networking with global fashion leaders.

Prassanna’s influence extends beyond the runway. He lectures on fashion branding, marketing, and sustainability and is the only Sri Lankan invited as a guest speaker at India’s National Institute of Fashion Technology (NIFT) in both Mumbai and Delhi.
