News click Founder Accused of Terror Funding and Chinese Propaganda Delhi Police Chargesheet Unveils Shocking Allegations

Explosive revelations surface as Delhi Police files an extensive chargesheet against Newsclick and its founder Prabir Purkayastha, implicating them in terror funding, promoting Chinese propaganda, and inciting protests.

In a stunning development, the Delhi Police has filed a detailed chargesheet against Newsclick, a prominent news portal, and its founder Prabir Purkayastha, alleging a myriad of offenses ranging from terror funding to disseminating Chinese propaganda. The chargesheet, comprising nearly 8,000 pages, paints a troubling picture of the portal’s activities, linking it to contentious issues like the farmers’ protests and the 2020 Delhi riots.

The accusations against Prabir Purkayastha are grave, with the Delhi Police alleging his involvement in terror financing, disinformation campaigns, and incitement of protests and riots. The chargesheet claims that funds amounting to ₹91 crore were channeled through Newsclick for nefarious activities, including supporting banned terrorist organizations like Lashkar-e-Taiba. Additionally, Purkayastha is accused of altering maps to endorse Chinese territorial claims and spreading misinformation about government policies like the Citizenship (Amendment) Act and the National Register of Citizens.

The chargesheet also alleges Purkayastha’s involvement in spreading Covid vaccine misinformation and his purported links with Maoist organizations. Furthermore, Newsclick is accused of promoting Chinese propaganda and receiving substantial funds for this purpose, raising serious concerns about journalistic integrity and independence.

The filing of the chargesheet marks a significant development in the ongoing investigation, with the Patiala House Court in Delhi scheduling the hearing for May 31. As the case unfolds, it shines a spotlight on the nexus between media organizations, political agendas, and foreign interests, raising pertinent questions about journalistic ethics and accountability.
