The Sri Lanka Tourism Alliance has introduced a new global promotional drive titled “Love Sri Lanka, Always,” aimed at encouraging travellers to explore the island throughout the year and strengthening its appeal in selected international markets.
With India remaining one of the most important visitor markets, the campaign highlights Sri Lanka’s short travel time, strong flight connections and diverse range of experiences. From wildlife encounters and tea plantations to beaches and cultural landmarks, the island offers both quick getaways and more immersive travel opportunities for Indian visitors.
A key objective of the initiative is to reshape how travellers view the destination and reduce the long-standing issue of seasonal tourism demand. By showcasing cultural celebrations, wildlife events and unique natural occurrences that take place at different times of the year, the campaign encourages travellers to visit beyond traditional peak seasons and experience the country as it changes with the seasons.
Throughout the year, Sri Lanka offers a variety of distinctive experiences—from colourful festivals and long-standing cultural traditions to wildlife migrations and evolving monsoon landscapes. By highlighting these seasonal attractions, the campaign aims to promote more balanced tourism across the island, introduce lesser-known destinations and support local communities in multiple regions.
The initiative also comes at a time when Sri Lanka is regaining momentum as a global travel destination. It seeks to maintain steady interest from international markets while destinations, hotels and tourism communities remain ready to welcome visitors. Authorities say tourism services across the country are fully operational, with destinations open and prepared to offer visitors the warmth, culture and natural beauty that define the Sri Lankan experience.
Using cinematic videos, striking photography and immersive digital storytelling, the “Love Sri Lanka, Always” campaign focuses on experiences that can only be witnessed at specific times of the year. These include the famous elephant gathering at Minneriya National Park, one of Asia’s largest wildlife spectacles, the glowing lantern displays during Vesak, and the grand cultural procession of the Kandy Esala Perahera.
The campaign will be rolled out globally through digital platforms, combining visual storytelling, targeted marketing strategies and media partnerships to reach travellers during key stages of their trip planning. It also strengthens the “Love Sri Lanka” platform as a central hub for travel inspiration and information for international visitors.
At a time when global travel patterns remain uncertain, Sri Lanka aims to position itself as a dependable and rewarding destination, offering visitors convenience, safety and memorable experiences throughout the year.
