14-year-old Girl Killed in Bus–Motorcycle Crash

A 14-year-old girl has died following a road accident involving a bus and a motorcycle in Kuda Oya, according to Sri Lanka Police.

The incident occurred on Sunday morning along the Weherayaya–Siripura road when a bus collided with an oncoming motorcycle.

The victim, who was travelling as a pillion rider, succumbed to her injuries after being admitted to hospital. The motorcycle rider sustained serious injuries and was later transferred to Monaragala Hospital for further treatment.

Police said the girl was a resident of Ethiliwewa.

The bus driver has been taken into custody, and investigations into the accident are ongoing.
