Las Vegas Set to Welcome John Cena as WrestleMania 42 Host

American actor and former professional wrestling superstar John Cena is gearing up for a return to WWE’s biggest stage—this time in a new role as host of WrestleMania 42.

Cena confirmed the news through social media, revealing that he will be heading to Las Vegas for the blockbuster event. The announcement marks his first major WWE appearance since stepping away from in-ring competition late last year.

The 16-time world champion officially retired in December 2025 after a defeat to Gunther at Saturday Night’s Main Event, bringing an end to a remarkable 23-year wrestling career. Despite his departure from active competition, Cena hinted that his journey with WWE was far from over.

Sharing his excitement, Cena noted that although his path has changed since retirement, he is thrilled to once again be part of WrestleMania. His new role allows him to remain connected to the company while avoiding the physical demands of competing inside the ring.

Cena’s farewell run was filled with memorable highlights, including a historic victory over Cody Rhodes at WrestleMania 41, where he secured a record-breaking 17th world title—cementing his place among WWE’s greatest-ever performers.

The upcoming WrestleMania 42 is scheduled to take place on April 18 and 19 at Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas. The venue will host WWE’s flagship event for the second consecutive year, promising another spectacular showcase of sports entertainment.

With Cena taking on hosting duties, fans can expect his trademark charisma and energy to add an extra layer of excitement to one of WWE’s most anticipated events of the year.
