The International Cricket Council (ICC) has confirmed a record-breaking prize pool for the upcoming ICC Women’s T20 World Cup 2026, with total winnings set at $8,764,615, as detailed on its official platform.
This marks an increase of roughly 10 percent compared to the 2024 edition, which featured a total prize fund of $7,958,077.
Under the revised structure, the tournament champions will receive $2.34 million, while the runners-up will earn $1.17 million. Teams eliminated in the semi-finals will each take home $675,000.
In addition, every victory during the group stage will be rewarded with $31,154. All participating teams are also assured a minimum payout of $247,500.
The 2026 tournament will also introduce a significant change in format, expanding to 12 teams for the first time in its history.
ICC Chief Executive Sanjog Gupta highlighted the rapid progress of the women’s game, noting that both the expanded competition and record prize pool reflect the organisation’s commitment to strengthening the sport globally.
He added that the increased financial backing mirrors the rising influence and impact of women athletes worldwide.
Gupta further emphasized that the tournament is expected to drive new milestones in attendance and viewership, while also contributing to broader cultural and social change across the globe.
Alongside the prize announcement, the ICC has also rolled out a Trophy Tour in collaboration with DP World. The tour began in London, where the trophy was showcased at Lord’s Cricket Ground—the venue set to host the final.
From there, the trophy will travel to several European nations that have secured qualification, including Netherlands, Ireland, and Scotland, before continuing across host cities in England.
The tournament is scheduled to get underway on June 12, with the opening match featuring England Women’s Cricket Team taking on Sri Lanka Women’s Cricket Team at Edgbaston in Birmingham.
